If you think Mitt Romney is the only Republican presidential hopeful with an affinity for laws forcing people to buy health insurance, think again. Tim Pawlenty never made Romney’s fatal error of signing a mandate into law, but it’s clear that he would have done so if given a chance. Here’s an audio of Pawlenty not merely praising Romney’s Massachusetts boondoggle, but also calling mandates “helpful.?

Thus, like Romney, he can’t even engage the President in a debate about ObamaCare’s most unpopular and constitutionally questionable provision:

    If I had a dollar for every time you use the word ‘boondoggle’ I’d be rich. What you seem to forget is that the insurance mandate was mainstream Republican policy and indeed is obviously going to be embraced once again once even more voters catch on to Ryan’s death to Grandma policy.
