PROGRESSIVES FOR THE STATUS QUO

Phillip Klein points out an interesting development in the health care debate:
When it comes to health care, it’s actually conservatives who are offering change, and liberals who are offering more of the same failed policies (only on a much grander scale).
McCain’s health care plan calls for the elimination of the horribly inequitable and inefficient employer-based health […]

A FUNDAMENTAL DIFFERENCE ON HEALTH CARE

Writing in the Boston Herald, Michael Gerson succinctly sums up the essential difference between John McCain and Barack Obama on health care. It’s all about “the vision thing”:
There are really only two visions of health care reform: using government to increase private insurance coverage, or using government to provide health care on a larger scale. McCain takes the first approach. Obama […]

DEBATE: OBAMA REPEATS “HEALTH CARE TAX” LIE

A trademark lie that has been consistently promoted by the Obama-Biden campaign is that  John McCain will tax everyone’s health care benefits. Joe Biden said it during the recent VP debate, and Barack Obama repeated it in tonight’s Presidential debate:

Now, Sen. McCain has a different kind of approach. He says that he’s going to give […]

20 MILLION WILL LOSE THEIR COVERAGE?

Arguably, the most consistently successful stratagem ever devised by the Democrats is their perennial campaign to frighten the elderly into voting for them by claiming that Republicans want to do away with Social Security.
Every election, with the grim inevitability of Greek tragedy, “the party of Jeffersonâ€? deploys this canard. And it has been so successful […]

HEALTH AFFAIRS: PROUD SOURCE OF BIDEN BS

Last week, Jean Hiebert-White, executive publisher of Health Affairs, took me to task for suggesting that her publication had devolved into just another media conduit for Democrat talking points.
Hiebert-White’s case isn’t helped by this post at the Health Affairs blog boasting that the barage of balderdash fired by Joe Biden during the VP debate included a phony stat from the very article I criticized:
In […]

DEBATE: BIDEN REPEATS LIE ABOUT MCCAIN’S HEALTH PLAN

Recently, I pointed out Barack Obama’s habit of lying about John McCain’s health care plan. His favorite whopper is that McCain is going to tax everyone’s health benefits, and Joe Biden repeated that lie during the VP debate:

He taxes as income every one of you out there, every one of you listening who has a health care plan […]

HEALTH AFFAIRS & MCCAIN’S HEALTH PLAN

The recent article in Health Affairs about John McCain’s health care reform plan is not to be taken seriously. It reads like it was written by Barack Obama’s campaign staff. John Goodman does a good job of exposing how slanted the piece really is:

Somewhat unusual for an article in Health Affairs, this piece is incredibly biased. Among […]

MCCAIN, OBAMA AND DRUG REIMPORTATION

As I have pointed out before, the one health care position John McCain and Barack Obama have in common is their wrong-headed support of prescription drug reimportation. It appears, however, that both candidates may be waking up:
Barack Obama and John McCain are reviewing their support for allowing individuals to import cheaper prescription drugs in light of tainted medicines and […]

MORE BS ABOUT MCCAIN’S HEALTH PLAN

Barack Obama is not the only one lying about John McCain’s health care reform plan. Many of his supporters in the establishment media and blogosphere are being equally mendacious. An illustrative example is the following assertion by Joe Klein:
John McCain wants to tax your employer-provided health care benefits. He wants to replace those benefits with an insufficient tax […]

OBAMA LYING ABOUT MCCAIN HEALTH PLAN

Among the canards promulgated by Barack Obama’s increasingly desperate presidential campaign is that John McCain has gone through a sudden and shocking metamorphosis. The ”once-principled” Republican (i.e. one willing to supinely accept defeat) has somehow become a pathological liar.
This nonsense is, of course, being robotically repeated by all of the usual Obamatons. Yet, with the laudable exception of Andrew Sullivan, none of these people seem to notice any of Obama’s stretchers. […]
