Santorum used ObamaCare to define himself as the only genuine conservative in the race by describing the histories of Romney and Gingrich as fair weather conservatives who caved on health reform: The biggest issue we have to deal with in this election that’s crushing the economy, will crush it even further and crush freedom … [...]
I don’t know how much good this ad will do Santorum, but it’s an accurate portrayal of Romney. His Massachusetts health care “reform” law was the prototype for ObamaCare. Like Obama, he was for the big bailouts, and has actually claimed (when it was politically expedient) to be more liberal than Ted Kennedy. What more do you need to know?
Rick Santorum says that Romneycare,” the Masschusetts healthcare plan that was a model for Obamacare, disqualifies Mitt Romney as the GOP nominee for president in November: Romneycare is a real scarlet letter here. We can’t have a nominee that takes away the most important issue in this election, which is an explosion of the federal government and [...]
John McCain has endorsed Mitt Romney? Just more evidence that we should never have nominateed the former last time around. Look at this ad McCain ran against Romney in 2008. How in the world did he suddenly reach the conclusion that such a brazen flip-flopper, complete with RomneyCare boondoggle, can possibly beat Obama in November?! [ht Sister Toldjah]
If there is anyone out there who still thinks Romney can win the GOP nomination or the general election, I recommend that they read this: Uninsured, poor immigrants can walk into a health clinic or hospital in the state and get publicly subsidized care at virtually no cost to them, regardless of their immigration status. [...]
This is why Romney can’t possibly win against Obama. The health reform issue really matters to the voters and he will be hit over and over and over again on Romneycare. What Santorum does in this clip is nothing compared to what Obama and the “news media will do to Romney if the GOP is [...]
If you need more proof that Mitt Romney cannot possibly debate health reform with the President, take a look at this video. It was shot at the signing of RomneyCare and it shows him thanking his “collaborator,” Ted Kennedy, for helping him foist this fiscal and medical disaster on Massachusetts: [ht Breitbart]
There’s a reason why ObamaCare and RomneyCare bear a close family resemblance. They share the same parents. During 2009, when ObamaCare was conceived, Romney’s people and Obama’s people were spending a lot of time together: White House visitor logs obtained by NBC News revealed that three of Romney’s healthcare advisers had up to a dozen meetings with senior [...]
A couple of weeks ago I wrote in the American Spectator that Mitt Romney can’t beat Obama because he has no more credibility than the President on jobs or health care. If you doubt that I’m right, take a look at this: The Bay State’s controversial 2006 universal health-care plan, also known as ‘Romneycare,’ has cost [...]
Perry has far more credibility on jobs and health care than Romney can claim, and these two issues will dominate the presidential campaign. In my column, I compare their records and discuss the implications thereof: On jobs, Perry has a story to tell that Romney can’t hope to match. As the Wall Street Journal recently reported, ‘Some [...]
